The Chemistry Stockroom offers over 2,000 sf of laboratory supplies and equipment available 24 hours a day for authorized Rice University users. The Stockroom located in the Space Science & Technology Building Room 218 serves all Rice University departments, research groups and service centers with a valid funding source.
Advantages to using the Stockroom include:
- Thousands of in-stock items available
- Convenience of walk-up, self-service sales
- Special orders from any vendor for non-stock items
- Monthly billing (eliminating p-card reconciliations!)
- Compressed gas/liquid nitrogen* services include delivery to lab
- Self dispensing dry ice and liquid nitrogen
- On-site personnel during normal working hours

Shipping & Receiving
Tom Blakeney heads the shipping and receiving services for the department, located in Space Science 101, adjacent to the loading dock. FedEx and other special delivery services are available here.
*Customers that have a key to the Space Science elevator have after-hour access to the compressed gas cylinders and liquid nitrogen tanks located on the loading dock. For compressed gases not currently in stock, orders may placed online, or contact Tom for details: 713.348.3257 or 713.348.3275 or chst@rice.edu.
